Mrs. Lynn Harris is the childcare provider for my children, however, she is not just their childcare provider, and she is a major part of their lives. Mrs. Harris is a loving individual who goes above and beyond her role as a childcare provider. Over three years ago Mrs. Harris interviewed our family because we were seeking care for my two children. We were looking for a childcare provider that would watch our children in a safe, healthy environment. The second we walked in her home we were blown away. The love she has for her children in her care was evident right from the start. She has spent so much time and creativity to set up her home for the children in her care. I was impressed at the learning environment she had there. Everywhere you turned you saw numbers, the alphabet, pictures of the children’s families, and on and on. I thought I had walked into a preschool that day. We knew this was the place we wanted our children to be.
Mrs. Harris worked with and prepared my daughter to enter kindergarten and my daughter has since excelled in school. My son experienced lots of ear infections at the age of one, which caused a slight delay in his walking and talking. Mrs. Harris was the person I went to for advice and help. She is so knowledgeable about what children should be doing at each stage in the toddler’s life that I trusted her more than the doctors who were seeing my son at the time. With her advice we received the help my son needed and he is where he should be now. Mrs. Harris also offers a great curriculum for the children. Each week the curriculum is sent home so that we may encourage the teachings at home. My son comes home everyday singing a new song and talking about what he learns at Mrs. Harris’ house. She continually teaches the children through art, books, songs, and field trips (to name a few). My son also shows love towards his friends and I know that is due to a big part of Mrs. Harris teaching her children how to love and share with others.
Mrs. Harris is a very intelligent woman who is highly educated but chooses to continually seek more education about childcare so she can better provide for the children she watches. This selfless act alone shows how important her children are to her. I am amazed at this because I have never seen someone with the drive that she has so determined to make a difference in peoples lives. She is leading the way for childcare and has changed the way I thought of “home daycare”. My son will not have to attend pre-kindergarten because of Mrs. Harris’ curriculum. He could not learn any more if he went to pre-k then he would learn at the home he is in.

It is a pleasure for me to write a letter for Lynn Harris, family child care provider. The first time I went to her house I was impressed. Her home was immaculate and evidence of her creativity was everywhere. After visiting with Lynn, we made the decision to leave our infant son in her care, and we have never regretted that decision. Lynn is reliable and extremely caring. She treats our son as she would her own. She continually keeps us informed concerning his activities and his needs. As an early childhood teacher in the public schools, I recognize the qualities that Lynn displays such as being a life long learner. She constantly edeavors to stay up with her profession. My husband and I are very pleased with the care our son receives and would not hesitate to recommend Lynn Harris to other parents.

Our family began our relationship for child care services with Lynn Harris in May 2010; our son was 2 years old. We trasitioned from another in-home daycare that my son was enrolled in since the age of 6 weeks. After interviewing with Lynn and walking through her home, we immediately knew that our son would love it.
Our son Elijah, has done nothing but thrive since attending Lynn's daycare. I believe that his social skills as well as his intellect have been nurtured and are stronger than they would have been at another facility. Elijah is an only child so building his social skills with other children is very important to my husband and I. I have never had any issues with Lynn's service. She and her family have been more than helpful and a blessing to our family during the time we were with her. Lynn treated each of the 6 children as if they were her own. She facilitates the daycare in a way that produces family environment. At the same time, Lynn ensures the children have the structure they need to learn and succeed when it is their time to attend school.
My son will begin preschool in August of this year, 2012, and I am confident that Lynn has helped him to develop the foundation that is needed for him to excel. I am thankful for all Lynn has done for us and she will forever be a honorary memeber of the Gray Family.
